The possible ramifications of this retirement chill me to my very soul. We might at well say bye bye to a woman's right to choose or just about any other rights you may hold near and dear.

Heather- this is true she is a pretty conservative justice as might be expected by a Reagan appointee but she has also proved to at least be somewhat moderate here and there. However considering George W. Bush described Clarence Thomas (perhaps the MOST conservative on the bench) as a 'model' Justice I would rather keep Sandra O over whatever neo-conservative justice Bush will appoint.

Here's the real question.

With my amazing ability to divine the future, I see something fucked up happening.

1) She's from AZ, not Texas
2) She was a conservative pointed by Reagan, yes, but I think the concern now is that the definition of a conservative republican has shifted since her appointment and Christian Fundamentalist have greater influence over the party nowadays. That's the shit that scares me. Fuck religion.
