ATTENTION EARTH PEOPLE.

Firefox ain't all that, I have lost thousands of dollars fixing design bugs that only happen in Firefox. My workstations are screaming fast, IE loads instantly, FireFox has that wonderfully slow load time.

Firefox uses are so full of themselves. If you ever read the IE blog of MSDN, it just a bunch of them flaming the posters no matter what they say.

Nothing's going to be perfect; some things are better, though. (Check out what a big deal MS is making about IE's ability to detect and expose RSS feeds, which is super oldhat to Firefox and several other browsers.)

Without knowing what design bugs you're referencing, I'm tempted to wonder if they're not actually bugs in Firefox so much as IE-centric designing methodologies that by defintion aren't going to port well to other browsers. That's the usual case, as you probably know. I've had little problem making LS work in both IE and Firefox. (Opera be damned.) How'd you lose thousands of dollars?

(Without Microsoft building IE right into their operating system and thus tickling the allegations of unfair monopoly, IE would probably be as slow as anything else. )

There's always going to be asshat zealots on all sides. What really matters in the end is the technical merits of the product.

No one will know whether they are bugs until W3C or someone clearly defines the javascript standards that every browser claims to be compliant with yet still have enough differences to make programming for cross-browser a major pain in the ass.

Create the following shortcut on your Desktop/Start Menu/End Of Your Dick...where ever you like:

'C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe' /prefetch 1

Include the quotes.

Reboot your PC. Your FF will boot tons faster. If you're still experiencing 10 second+ load times, uninstall all your extentions/themes. Install them one by one, restarting FF after each one. That should help you isolate which extention/theme is causing the problem.

It cost me thousands of dollars by having to go back to clients sites and rip out and replace javascript drop down menus that work on every browser under the sun, except firefox. Why would I waste my time rebooting etc. when IE works screaming fast to begin with. I must say, tabbed browsing is sweet though.

The prefetching thing works great for me...only takes FF about 4 seconds to load, and I've got a shitload of extensions installed. Before the prefetch, it took about 10 or 12 seconds. That's significant enough for me...your mileage may vary.
