Recently, Microsoft announced that it could build a better file sharing client than Bittorrent. That means it intends to plug something into Longhorn... Microsoft is also currently spamming the online and TV media with marketing in preparation for Longhorns release.

Put 2 and 2 together and it's pretty simple to see that Longhorn needs a larger file sharing niche to squeeze into. So, they grease a few political palms that have a few judges ears, and they bring the hammer down on all the other file sharing companies BEFORE Longhorn is released. Thus they will create a larger niche to fit into AND they will debut Longhorn with perfect timing as a 'loophole' in the files haring laws are found...

Genius.

All your PC's are belong to us.

Then they will sell the fact that your OS notices your giant folders of MP3s to the File Sharing Ambulance Chasers and we will start getting calls.

'Excuse me Mr. Stell but we have been informed you have illegal music files on your PC. We 'could' go to court or we could just settle right now for the low low price of 'YOUR SOUL'!

The music and film industries deserve every bit of it. I say fork them all - art should be available based on whether people like it, not how much money can be made - most of that stuff is crap anyhow.
