My question: did we REALLY need the memo to understand that the power elite were planning this thing since 1998 at least (see Project for a New Jerusalem....er, American Century)? Oil which will be depleted within our lifetime, most likely, and replaced with a better, more efficient energy source (cold fusion?). Sigh.

Our constitution pretty clearly says taxes should go to military spending. Spending tax dollars on this war in Iraq makes a bajillion x more sense than spending tax dollars on the war on drugs, or the war on poverty, or the war on sensible health care costs, or the war on retiring without saving for it.

As far as oil is concerned, the faster we use up our crude reserves, the faster we will move on to smarter fuel sources.
