i don't care if he's a fascist. i don't care if he's ghandi. if he has a point to make, he should be able to do it in a manner that doesn't resemble the result of a shitfight in a monkeyhouse. i think his editors should have won those awards instead. all this does is provide a glimpse at the thought train of someone who could maybe benefit from a lot of ritalin.

Some of his novels aren't bad if you can ignore his moralistic crap and just enjoy the story, but he does tend to ramble on. What more can you expect from a card-carrying Mormon though. He lives in Utah, for crying out loud..

On the phone and in his incoherent published reply, Card repeatedly shows ignorance of what he himself purportedly wrote. I simply cannot imagine how you could write such a stunningly well crafted piece of work (inasmuch as it is wildly popular and deeply affects people) without being aware of every fibre and splinter of its composition. About the third or fourth time I heard Card say something wasn't in his book that I knew was, I began to suspect that it was more of a committee effort.

Its sad that people just can't read a book and enjoy it, instead of analyzing every freakin line of the book.

But if you have seen this weeks news, the Newsweeks story was true after all.
