Silent spring was a horribly dangerous book, I can't believe it was only a runner up. Wow, they don't really explain why the books were harmful, I would argue that the Bible and Kuran should both be on the list. Of course they only brought about crusades, extreme terrorists that attack abortion clinics and embassies, and discrimination against gays. But then again, a book about sex is pretty damning.

Just shows that the conservatives are paranoid. What happened to keep your friends close, and your enemies closer? They should be encouraging people to read these books, with the caveat that these are wrong and dangerous ideas. The problem with that is a percentage of the disciples might find some truth in what they find there. Better to warn them away. Fits perfectly with my stereotype of the conservative movement- let other people do the thinking for me, I'm too busy making money.
