Most people are ignorant of the fact that the Nazis didn't invent the swastika.
It's at least 10,000 years old, maybe more and has been used by indigenous cultures on almost every continent. Depending on the culture and context a swastika can be interpreted to mean good luck, the sun, the four directions, the turning of the year etc.
the Nazi's appropriated it because it was common in Sanscrit writings and on ancient Aryan artifacts and they wanted to establish their supposed link to that culture. The nazi swastika is a mirror image of the most common original symbol.
