Message in the SA forums:
DO NOT USE GOOGLE WEB ACCELERATOR TO BROWSE THE FORUMS!
Google has a product in testing called Google Web Accelerator. Its basically a caching proxy server that stores copies of the pages you visit or the images you view. When someone requests the same page, it tries to serve data out of the cache. This seems great, except that it means Google is likely storing private data that should NOT be available to the public. Some forum users have already gotten it to display private messages intended for other users.
I'll be modifying the forums to instruct Google not to cache our pages, but I still would suggest not running this app at all if you are concerned with security.
Google is not a magical angel dropping sparkly snowflakes into your buttery happiness. They are a big corporation with alot of money looking to make more of it. Use Google services objectively as you would those of any other company.
Thanks
