5 part trillogy right?

how was this movie by the way??? i'm psyched to see it, but am afraid I will be supremely dissapointed, having read the books. INPUT??

I was only moderately disappointed, but only because I know the radio series like the back of my hand. Folks I went with who didn't know the books thought it was entertaining.

It was somewhat faithful to the original script, but there were elements of artificiality (or studiocity?) in the plot, particularly the relationship between Arthur and Trillian. Adams would never have gone for that, I don't think. But all that aside, it's worth seeing once.

It was worth seeing. I've heard/read scripts the original radio broadcasts, seen most of the original t.v. series, and read teh books several times. The important thing to remember going in is that all the versions of the story are slightly different. D.N.A. was constantly tinkering with things. I agree with Turk on the love story angle, but Adams did have a lot of say in the script before his death, so who knows, he may have wrote it in.

If anyone does go see it, stay through the credits, mini-hidden gem towards the end.

Im going to see it when its translated (maybe sucking even more humor out of it).
My expectations are that the movie will be entertaining, visual and action and stuff, and i think i will recognize every part from the book, but i dont think it gets any close to the humour of the originals.
