I'm just tired of all the godamn flag waving going on - look at me - I'm secure and if their is a flaw I will be patched in a couple of hours... shutup, nobody cares.

Hey I got an idea lets compare IEs and mozilla s flaws and see who wins.

Mozilla problably has just as much flaws as IE.. Since more users use IE , hakers goldmine IE for problems. If Mozilla becomes the browser for a majority of users, then you better belive hackers will goldmine that for problems also. But im sure we all know that the only malicious hackers out there are guys that work at antivirus companys, microsoft, and mozilla itself. We are all spectators in a war of computer code to see who's castle is the strongest.

Wow, I'd better open up IE right now and risk 95 different problems to avoid a couple with Firefox. Thanks, Internet!

Sure, they both have the same number of flaws, because... they both do the same job. So naturally, they have a roughly equal number of jobs.

Even saying probably, it still sucks.

I mean, I'm not in the habit of being an open source cheerleader, but you have to admit the model has certain inherent advantages over the alternative., especially when compared to Microsoft's design-by-committee, feature-not-a-bug deny-the-vulnerability model.

But even beyond that, what evidence have you run across that suggests both pieces of software suffer from equivalent bug counts?

Sure, Mozilla et. al. have their weaknesses, just like any software. No one ever said -- not in my hearing, any way -- that they were impregnable. But IE? Probably the single most historically insecure-by-design piece of software? It's barely a sensible comparison.

My only beef with FireFox (started using it after reformat, had been using Maxthon) is the loading time. I got a fairly new computer, and IE opens in a flash, while firefox takes 15-20 seconds, and I'm just that impatient. That, and broswing sites that require IE, like mcaffee.

Mofo you might want to try one of moox performance builds. These are built for individual processors and stuff.

I use MOOX, for the record. I can't say I've noticed any incredible speed gains, but I figure it sure can't hurt.

I have used moox on my office pc for awhile but can't remember if its faster. Like you I figured it couldn't hurt to try it.
