This makes me realize that I had a lot of goddamn toys when I was a kid. At various times I had the Stretch Armstrong, Rubik's Cube, ViewMaster, Tonka Truck, Vertibird, various AD&D manuals, Slime, Simon, Spirograph, Star Bird (holee shit, was that cool!), Evel Knieval motorcycle, and a friggin bike almost exactly like the one pictured.

Can't forget GI Joe and the Space:1999 Eagle. Didn't have the 6 Million Dollar Man, but I had his way-cool nemesis Maskatron. I broke or lost every one. Ah, youth is truly wasted on the young.

What was Star Bird?

Now THIS makes me proud of being grown up in east-germany.

StarBird was a spaceship, with light-up laser cannons and 'realistic' space ship sounds, thanks to a big ol' speaker on the underside of the nose section. The nose detatched from the main hull and could become--depending on what you were imagining at the time--a life boat, landing craft, or fast moving scout ship. The aft section had a swivelling cannon to protect your flank from a sneak attack.
