You know in our redneck little country, it is plausable that they did shoot first, yell racist slurs etc etc. Believable, I suppose.

I'm positive they were nasty to him, but killing six of them seems a wee bit extreme. This has caused some anti-Hmong backlash here. When I hear it, I point out news articles from here where white people commit murder. Then I suggest we should get rid of them, also

His self defense plea might work if all of the dead were armed; they were not.

Shoot the man with the gun and the one without one will pick it up. They could all have been armed at some point, just not all at the same time. Killing six and wounding two more does seem a bit extreme though.
