I don't think it's really like you describe. Nobody is gonna vote one way or another because of Bruce Fucking Springsteen. It's more like par for the course, and a move to get the usually apathetic college kids of their drunk and stoned asses.
I don't know if I give a lot of credit to any leader. I'm not sure if anyone will really make a difference. I might give up my vote for a free Happy Meal... with a toy!
