As far as I can tell, all mainstream media in this country is conservative, or run and owned by conservatives, which is what confuses me about the mainstay conservative sneer: 'liberal media.'

TV is pretty uniformly conservatively oriented and most print is too. 'What Liberal Media' by Eric Alterman, basically blows the whole thing out of the water. Read it. Its good.

Every bodies vote counts! We have regular cases of seats won or lost on a handfull of votes( 50 to 100 ) and occasionally less. Of course, we don't have a choice about wether or not we vote, we cop a fine if we don't vote without a bloody good reason.

If the media is 'liberally biased' then why is that term used all over the place in the media? (If it actually were, why would it continually criticize itself? That's a paradox.) How do propagandic tools such as O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh get all the air time (and ratings)? How has Anne Coulter become such a household name while most Americans don't even know who the hell Noam Chomsky is?

And furthermore, if the media were 'liberally biased', the word 'conservative' wouldn't be touted like a badge of honor and the word 'liberal' wouldn't be thrown around as an insult.
