| | | Good.
Of course, they'll probably throw something together shortly that mimics it, or is even worse.
That's how they do. | | | |
| |
| | | Umm, expired all ready. Manufacturers are saying they aren't going to jump in on new production lines because they're waiting to see what happens in November. Ban wasn't that effective anyway for two main reasons:
1)Only affected law-abiding citezens anyway.
2)You could still buy and sell weapons/magazines that had been produced before the ban.
3)Commonly thought of 'assault' weapons (AKs, UZI, TEC9) are still banned under previous legislation.
| |
| | | 'bout fucking time...goodbye, stupid law, hello Armalite.
seriously, the ban did a GOOD job of keeping machine guns off the streets of L.A., no?
| |
| | | I can't wait to hunting with my uzi | | | |
| |
| | | Obviously, todays super-animals need to be hunted with more powerful weapons.
Plus, you look important and potentially deadly when you carry around some sort of automatic weapon.
| |
| |
| |
| | | I imagine hitting a squirrel with an armor piercing bullet would create a pretty entertaining sight. Somebody should do that. | | | |
| |
| | | I think they should use high-explosive rounds to shoot turkeys and chicken, because then the meat would already be ground *AND* cooked | | | |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| | | this really doesn't effect us gunnuts too much, because the law allows for the sale and trade of assault weapons, and clips of 10+ rounds, manufactured before 1994 when the law was passed. | | | |
| |
| | | Yeah, but what happens when they run out, or get so old that they're unusable? I've heard things to that effect.
I would bet that the first new law concerning this would be another high-cap. mag restriction, so when/if they start selling them again, stock up.
| |
| | | i bought an SKS
(precursor to AK-47) at k-mart in Anchorage for $99 about 9 years ago. came with a bayonet, 10 round clip, and a free box of 7.62's thrown in for good measure. 30 round clips can be found at almost any flea market, gun show, etc.
i (heart) guns. | | | |
| |
| | | I gotta suparsoaker but it broke after a couple days.... | | | |
| |
| | | It doesnt make sense to take away guns from law abiding citizens. Criminals have access to any gun they want. Besides, gun owners are protected under the 2nd amendment. I dont understand people that try to create any type of gun controls. Some people (like Michael Moore) totally ignore the fact that we have the 2nd Amendment. What would the people of the US do if our government became radical like Germany did when Hitler was in power. The 2nd Amendment protects us from those sorts of things. | | | |
| |
| | | Rong box0r.
If the government ever decided to come down hard, we'd lose, bad. Tanks and planes against our little 'assault' rifles? Bitch please.
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| | | SexNinja, Although youre right that the government has more firepower, I would rather die fighting with some sort of artillery. What would you use? A sling shot? Id want an assault weapon if it came down to something like that. | | | |
| |
| | | genttwothousandthreehundredfortyfive | | | |
| |
| | | Sure. I'm just saying, it wouldn't make much difference. About all you could do with something like an 'assault' weapon is use it to hijack convoys and engage in other small disruptive activities.
We would lose in the end, but an 'assault' weapon would be handy to have while we were still alive.
| |
| | | I'd blend in with the controlling masses and attempt to subvert it from within, relying on my wit rather than a shotgun full of birdshot. Wave your guns around and yell woohoo all you want, Big brother will still assrape you. (for the record I'm not anti-gun, just a realist). | | | |

| |
| | | i (heart) my SKS, my Glock model17(chambered for 10mm),
and my Winchester A-bolt 270....and i kinda like my Ruger 10-22

So , you think a good joke will keep the 'bad' folk away?(Define that however you want) While a nation of armed free people is not always the answer (see Albania post 1997), the threat of a free nation with arms is a good start.
| |
| | | I like how some post to say that if assault weapons are banned entirely that the US government is going to just up and attack every citizen. For what end? That argument doesn't even make sense. | | | |
| |
| | | If the goverment go bad, homemade plastic explosives full of nails against police stations and patrol cars are a better bet... (Thats if the police are opposing the people) | | | |

| | | Stump: 'While a nation of armed free people is not always the answer (see Albania post 1997), the threat of a free nation with arms is a good start.'
Good start for what, the revolution, to fight zee Germans, to fight opression?
True liberty comes from the hearts and minds of men, not from the barrel of a gun. The gun kills opressors and the opressed alike, it's just a tool like any other.

It's a tool I'd like to have just in case.

LORDKAHUNA'True liberty comes from the hearts and minds of men, not from the barrel of a gun. I must whole heartedly agree. Liberty is preserved from the barrel of a gun. That's why the right to own and bear arms is the 2nd Amendment and not the First.
| | | |
| |
| | | Loki I have read your excellent, well researched 2nd amendment defense. I agree with you whole heartedly.
My response to gent2345's statement,' What would the people of the US do if our government became radical like Germany did when Hitler was in power?' was a reflection of how I could be most effective against an opressive regime.
I was trying to (light heartedly) explain to Stump (in my own weird-ass way) that an armed populace does not necessarily protect liberty. I'm sure that a lot of people soapbox about the government infringement regarding the 2nd amendment, but don't realize that it does not exist purely for the sake of gun ownership.

| | | Here's the bad news for New York State. 'The picture of Dylan Klebold standing there with a TEC-9 pistol in his hand, shooting people dead in Columbine High School, that's an image you might want to keep in mind.' Yeah. The tragic picture of no decent and considerate person allowed to point one back at him -- unforgiveable. | | | |
