Swatara police said Stephanie Gray, 30, walked into her former employer with the intent to scare her boss with a pellet gun, but almost lost her life when she pulled the gun on a police officer Tuesday.

Gray walked in the store earlier in the day telling employees she would be back around 2 p.m. when there was going to be some action, News 8 reported. While taking a report from the first incident, Swatara police noticed the woman standing in line.

When approached, she reportedly pointed the pellet gun at Patrolman Ronald Soutner, who pointed his weapon right back, but refrained from shooting because of children in the store. The woman attempted to flee, but after a five-minute chase around the store, she was tackled by a customer and taken into custody. Police said Gray wanted to die by police hands.

"She wanted suicide by cop. She wanted me to kill her," Soutner said.

Gray is charged with one felony and three misdemeanors and is being held at the Dauphin County Prison.
