vasudeva:
Ragoo: Can the date format on the forum postings be changed from DD/MM/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY?

And change the timestamp to "regular" EST time instead of "military" time.
That shit's in your profile. Click the Profile Link up top to edit.

I've set mine to MM/DD/YY, and 12-hour format, so your post looks like this to me: 10/6/2004 at 09:27 AM
YOU ARE DRUNK.

Sober now and in work

How about having a Humour forum - since there seem to be a few jokes being cracked at the moment. With a Humour forum we could preserve these jokes for all posterity - although judging by the quality of jokes so far it would probably be better not to.

How about adding a way to email links to other people...you know, a "send this link to a friend" kind of option. Maybe such a feature could bring the email recipient back to the link's comment page?

I send my wife links all the time to amuse her while she works, but it's always a copy/paste process. This might be a tool to allow more peeps to become aquainted with LS--and that can't be a bad thing, can it?

Can we find some way to make it so the Rejected links don't shit up the viewing of the accepted links? I mean I have no idea how, but rather a lot of bullshit is getting rejected these days and its visually impacting my selection of the quality links. Some slight color designation might be all that is needed.

Those that are not Alpha members should be able to at least read and contribute to their own rejected links...

This I agree with, and has been on my TODO list for some time. it'd probably take me 10 minutes if I sat down and looked at it.

I worked for a few hours trying to figure out a way to hide Rejected links from the main page but it got messy. This is something I'm planning on for the big engine overhaul, which I'd actually be ready to start on if work was giving me so much crap to do.

As for emailing peeps, that'd be neat, but it'd give any user the ability to spam anyone in the world -- from my webserver. This would have potentially Very Bad consequences. I could toss in a mailto: link somewhere that when clicked would launch your mail client, open up a new email, and fill out some of the stuff, like this. I have no idea how cross-platform that code is, but it works here in Firefox/Thunderbird when I preview this post.

Works on Mac OSX in Safari/Mail.app too, and it's pretty neeto.

Then again, I usually just AIM the links to friends. I don't like crapping up people's email boxes with links of she-hulk and Japanese barf porn, but I don't at all mind covering their screen with Instant Messages about it.

Funny how that works.
