are there any fans of this type of music here? I'm just curious if I'm all alone on this, or if anyone else listens to this type of music. Just for conversation sake, here are a list of groups that I listen to...
------------------------
Boards of Canada
Aphex Twin
Squarepusher
Roni Size
Kruder & Dorfmeister
Portishead
Massive Attack
DJ Shadow, Krush, QBert, Food, etc.. etc.. (excluding crap dj's)
Red Snapper
Bonobo
anyone? anyone?
in general, what types of music do you love? what do you hate?
I'm curious to know what you swarmers put in your stereo

mmmm....now I want to go home and make some weed butter.
my neighbor suprised me a couple of weeks ago with some toast and pot butter spread on it. I never knew it could be so good!
both of those groups are great, but very different, so if you like Aphex Twin, you should listen to Squarepusher. If you like Massive Attack, give Portishead a listen (preferrable the 'dummy' album). |

Bonobo I was a fan of Roni Size for awhile. The "New Forms" album or similar. It got to be a little too logicky after a while. Kruder and Dorfmeister are very good, and of course DJ Shadow rules, though his newer stuff isn't doing me so well.
Heard of Amon Tobin? Imagine the last two musics combined. Well worth checking out.

I agree with you 100% on that. I have all his albums, but New Forms is easily his best work.

i love all his stuff, but I agree his older stuff like 'endtroducing' and 'preemptive strike' are his best. Plus his work on Unkle's "psycence fiction" was phenomenal.

yes. can't believe I left him off. I have ALL his albums. Fantastic stuff |

I've had really wierd luck with WagonChrist. I found a really good mp3 by him a million years ago, and can't find anything decent since. I've searched for shit by Luke Vibert, too, but no luck.
Maybe you've got something specific and good you can share.
OR MAYBE -- JUST MAYBE -- YOU CAN EAT MY ASS, EARTHLING!

The best part about this beginner is that he is not even close to as annoying as half of our regular users.

no doubt, he tries to be annoying but he just can't pull it off. Not to say he isn't an asshat, but he hasn't come close to MudVayne status yet.

Sorry - been away for a while so missed the start if this post. I am now about to do something never before attempted on any Linkswarm forum - try to get back to the original reason for starting the thread.
I very much doubt I'll be allowed to get away with it though ;-)
Try the album Phantom Theory by Futureshock - best electronica I've listened to in a while. They manage to do something different with every track on the album and will remind you of other artisits and tracks without really plagiarising them.
** Must turn Pompous mode off! **
Leftfield qualify as some of the best, while The Orb (and plenty of drugs) helped get me listening to this kind of music.
Also the Future Sound Of London are excellent background music.
