For anyone who has unwittingly stumbled across Globe-finder (a variant of the CoolWebSearch browser hijacker), the following page has info on how to remove all traces of the fukin thing.

This nasty little program hijacks ie through java, resets homepages, search pages, etc., and is generally a gigantic pain in the ass. You can manually reset properties, but on reboot it returns. Spybot and Ad-aware don't seem to touch it.
Additionally, I forgot who pointed me to that site from Irc, maybe McGoatCheese?, But thanks!
