This one was a bloodbath.
Palin led with the hockeymom crapline and continued with regurgitation and talking points. She sidestepped major issues, went back to confuse prior arguments and made some amazingly confusing thoughtstrings in the process. She argued against herself and even said nucular.
Biden restrained himself and gave substantial arguments, historical points and statistics.
The transcripts tomorrow will show Palin's horrific trainwreck.

Not that I support her or McCain one bit, but I am glad that she didn't embarass herself. Content wise, Biden clear winner. Presence, they both hit their strengths. So, for the fuckheads that don't care about content and like buttons pushed, then Palin pleasured their balls. Biden almost started a sighing fit, but composed himself. Overall, for an amateur, she did alright by sticking to her limited range. Not bad strategy.

Suprisingly mediocre-rather like the first debate. Palin got some good culture war points in, Biden did well with taking up McCain-both were stumbling over their words at times. My problem with it was the complete lack of moderation. Apparently, Palin's strategy was pretty much to just answer in pre-prepared statements-some of them I swear sounded utterly memorized-and she absolutely did not answer most of the questions posed to her-openly side-stepped shit and said "I'd like to talk about ___ now". I don't think that should have been allowed to happen-she walked all over the format by not answering the questions. And all that winking at the camera shit? Please. Biden took some liberties, but nothing so obnoxious.
In the end I think its basically the same post-mortum as the first debate-McCain camp didn't change the game, but didn't lose it, Obama made some ok hits but isn't taking off by any means.

Sir, which debate were YOU watching?
Are you saying that Palin didn't lead in with the hockeymom shitline heartstring message to "Joe Six-Pack": the non-commital shlub who would rather hang out at the bar than go vote?
Are you saying that Palin didn't say that the "Nucular" issue was "the end all, be all" (what ever the fuck that shit means) and then sidestep back to the argument about Afganistan?
Did she not string a fuckload of words together that had no true coherent meaning when she was in pinch? Words that often contradicted her initial stance, notably when it came to tax breaks to large corporations?
If not, then maybe we have two different viewpoints.
The benefit if my view, though, is that it's not obstructed by a sphincter muscle.

A glowing beacon of leadership. She put Biden in his place, and hard.

It was a bloodbath for me in that I saw an obviously deeply coached, grasping everychick get up, bluff poorly, and apply huge amounts of you-betcha-go-get-em spunk and a boatload of buzzwords in order to convince the bottom half of the population that they, too, could be vice-president and thus, vote You.
It was not a bloodbath in that I suspect the above tactic was overwhelmingly successful.
There will be a reality TV show about her. That audience wants it too bad for there not to be.

Agreed. Anyone who had doubts about her going into this debate (aka the majority of America), continues to have those doubts now. She either answered a question with a sentence or two, then switching back to a random diatribe of her choosing or she didn't answer it whatsoever, several times even acknowledging that fact. At first, I was angry that the moderator let her get away with this (I assume because of the questions about her neutrality). However, at the other podium, the moderator let Biden get away with last minute interjections defeating Palin's points many time, therefore giving him the last word and lasting impression on many issues. Fair trade as far as I'm concerned.
I've heard from a lot of Democrats that they left the debate feeling no worse or better about Palin, but feeling great about Biden. As long as he's been around, there were many people that knew very little about him (myself included), and he did a great job winning us over last night. I've very impressed with Mr. Biden.

My wife had a great quote following the Palinisms over the past few weeks...."How can I learn to just string words together that sound good, but mean nothing?"
Must be a skill sugartits learned from being a twat in a bathing suit contestant... just keeping your lips flapping, hitting the auditory queues, and don't always target the intellectual centers of the brain. Much like Jon Anderson lyrics. Perhaps Palin should be fronting Yes once her political aspirations get nuked in November.

Biden had no choice but to go after McCain and for the most part ignore Palin and her populist stance. If Biden starts ripping Palin, he gets accused of Bullying and "being overly political".

Funny, my wife told me she is glad she will never have to diagram one of Palin's sentences.

Yeah, I just hope that reality show doesn't have a regular time-slot on CNN.
