I'm going to guess it's because you're just flat out retarded. I'm sorry you had to learn it this way. It'll probably be a softer blow when you learn it again next week.
Reject reasons are shown on links that pass through the alpha queue. I would assume the channeling of links to a certain queue is random, or possibly has to do with how full one of the queues happens to be. I'm not privy to this info first-hand, but this just seems, I dunno, fucking logical.

if i remember correctly, admins may put a link in the queue if they don't know what to do with it, or if they have a bunch of links to approve, or for whatever reason. |

Links that get rejected from the main queue will show the reject reason. Occasionally if I'm rejecting something from the main queue, and it's completely obvious why it's getting rejected, and I'm feeling particularly grim, I won't bother putting anything. (This tends to happen in the early morning. Pro-tip: At these moments I most likely hate your fucking guts, fyi.)
Links that get processed through the Alpha Queue will show any Alpha votecomments attached. Rejection votes have to be accompanied by a reason. Alpha votecomments are otherwise optional.
Links go into the Alpha queue instead of the main queue depending on a number of factors...
- There's a submit-time algorithm that checks things like submitter history and newness (e.g., Brand-new user likely to be a complete spammer? Main queue, to get the party started on his Rejection Bitterness Rating. Alpha queue would probably delete, and then we have no record of having seen this guy before.) It also takes into account how packed the main queue is. There's also a bit of randomness added in because I saw someone else do it somewhere and it looked totally sci-fi.
- As admins manage the main queue, they can push those links into the Alpha Queue if they want. I do it when I want to ping the Alpha crowd's thoughts or am in a harrowing moral quandary as regards the mortal destiny of some hapless link.
Only Alphas get to see rejected links or the commentary thereon. Regulator, go fuck yourself.
