was watching 'the panic in needle park' yesterday and the bird 'helen' got a letter from her mother. so, it got me and my live-in lover thinking;
when was the last time you get a letter through the post, a handwritten effort not a bill, from whom and why? (and greetings cards dont count)
none of the two of us could come up with anything at all, so we decided that letters were echos of a bygone era, then called in chinese food.

Wow, that is fucking weird, and kinda sad I guess.
Strangely, the last handwritten letter I recieved was a business letter from a dude who was trying to sell me a piece of equipment.

I got a hand written letter in the mail this weekend from my daughter who's spending the summer in Florida.

I got a hand written letter 2 weeks ago from a good friend, he also sent a book with it so either it doesn't really count or I am doubly old fashion for reading books on paper too...?

We get handwritten letters all the time from my wife’s mom. Her parents live in the stone ages and only correspond via pencil.
These letters usually include details regarding any or all of the following:
- Her fathers chron's disease infested, decomposing body
- The most recent job that my wife's trucker brother has quit or gotten himself fired from.
- The ugly custody battle that her other brother is going through, which we loaned him money years ago to help fight (the money didn't help)
- All the people in their town that give them old food about ready to rot
- The bottle's her mom found in the ditch...
- Oh and requests for money to pay their utilities, when they still have satelite, and smokes up the wazoo.
You get the picture... fun fun fun. |

I worked for/with hungarians for 12 years.. "lofas a shaged-be" and "Boz meg" are the only things I remember, although I am sure I spelled them wrong. fuck you with a horse dick and fuck off are probably the most common phrases in the language.
