I read some recent shit about how they might lighten the laws on gun ownership and wondered how many of you knife wielding SOB's own guns. I have a Glock 21 .45. I have taken 2 gun courses on gun handeling and pop off around 3 hundred rounds a month to keep in practice. I always keep it under lock and key unless the news tells me otherwise

I own a pellet gun. CRY.
My wife doesn't allow guns in the house, and having three runts I can sort of agree. I do have two large mutts and one of them doesn't tolerate new visitors very well and the other follows the lead.

Fuck a cable lock. I keep my shits loaded and ready. But, much to your surprise I am responsible(after all its my ass if my wifes friends kid blows his stupid head off).
This allows me to do that.
Highly reccomended over all other handgun safes.
This will be my next purchase....followed by lots of mods to it I'm sure.

I own a Marlin 30-30 rifle, a Winchester Model 36 .410 Ga, break action shotgun, and a Springfield semi-automatic .22 rifle. Basically small game hunting weapons.
For my birthday two years ago, my dad gave me a Smith and Wesson .45 Model 4566. I do not currently have this in my possession since I don't have a handgun license for Massachusetts. This status is due to change in the not too distant future.

Got my First BB gun at 8 and shotgun when I was about 11. My Dad's handgun was never locked up in my house either but I was also taught gun safety and respect (FEAR) very early. I'm mostly a shotgun guy for sport but I have a few other pieces here and there. Most people I see with handguns make me nervous and feel like there should be some sort of national gun safety and education program so Mr Average knows what to do when one lands in his hands.

Also, have you(or anyone else) shot the Glock 33 or 31 .357? Just wondered cause I was thinking of buying one(probably the sub-compact 33 due to magazine restrictions in my state.)

Glock 21 is a fucking power house and I love it. The down side is it;s composite so when it fires the gun rises about 1 foot due to the lack of weight to compnsate. You can have it fire ported"drill holes in the end of the barrel on the top side to help drive the gun down when you fire" for a pretty price. If the aim is good on the first round they won't make it to the second round. Mine is being sent out next month to do it. Death and distruction with hollow points. Please try it >

They actually were sued by Glock a while back for their trigger components I think for these models. : )

i took it. it was sitting on my poker table, nikon d50, flash bounced off ceiling/wall. iirc, it was my 12-24 tokina lens. would have been better with more bullets to fill in the gaps, but i was happy with the shot. |

with the .40 cal glocks, you can buy a .357 barrel and use the existing magazines. never fired any .357 personally, but it was a cool feature to have if i ever get tired of the .40.
oh and i saw you had a sigma, have you seen or heard of the trigger mod to remove the extra helper spring? i did it in my sigma 9 and it made a huge difference in trigger pull. nowhere near as smooth as the glock, but much nicer.
edit: found an old pic of my sigma.

thanks man, but, TBH, as much as i like the nikon, if i could start all over, i would def. buy a canon. i have quite a few friends who shoot canon (at least 5 people i can think of offhand- shooting portraits, cars, landscapes, ect.). and i know for a fact, i have spent more time learning, and more money on glass, and i still envy their shots. even the ignorant noobs who overuse photoshop or lightroom. there is just something about the "look" the canon's provide. the quality is the same for either brand, and parts/lens networks are both equal, so this is def. not a concern.
my advice, look for or call around for shops either local or online that will rent you gear (they are pretty common). then grab a nikon, and a comparable canon model (in your price range of course) and go out and shoot. one of the biggest things for me is comfort. you really should "feel" both in your hands before deciding. the canon's might be a tad more expensive to start, but, once you weigh the features, the canons win for me. if your not afraid of secondhand shit, try to buy used if you can. jump on craig's list, or camera specific forums. ebay is always a crap shoot as we know. but most folks treat their gear pretty good for the most part, so buying used is always a viable option. it;s even better because you can use the few hundo you save to either upgrade to a better camera, or buy some new lenses or filters. feel free to shoot me a PM, i'd be glad to help. |
