My first car was a B-Day present. 1977 Plymouth Fury cop car. It had holes in the roof where the rollers went and a big black dot on the door covering the sherrifs emblim. I wired the headlights to flash like a cop car should. Totally fun.

After the cop car died I had:
81 Buick Electra Limited. 350 4bbl. 4 door loaded
81 Regal V-6 garbage
74 Beetle. Drove it until the fron wheel fell off :'( Loved that car.
79 Sky Bird. Womans version of the Trans-Am. I took the emblems off, exploded the motor and put in a 1970 350 Rockett from an Olds. Top speed 145 on a 2bbl

96 escort "First new car"
99 Ford Ranger" 2nd new car" "Last ford ever owned that was 80's or newer"
78 Bronco
99 S-10
01 S-10 4x4 Own today
07 KTM 525EXC Own today

I never learned to not beat the fuck out of a car until the last 4 years or so.

I have just picked up my first ever brand new car. A Feb 2008 Jeep Patriot Sport with the VW 2.0 litre diesel and 6 speed manual trans. It goes like shit on a stick and uses only 6.7litres of fuel per 100 kilometres.

I am one happy mofo.

my first car was actually bought for my older sister but was given to me when it was decided she was too good for it. it had a cd player for about a month until someone kicked the dash in and i replaced it with a walkman. it also smelled like freshly cut grass as the hatchback made it the optimal teenage hustlemobile.

during this time i picked up a drag ready primer grey 1965 nova ss for around $2,500 and spent most of said lawn hustle money on converting it back to a reliable street car. after a dropping a total of around $7,000 i still had a car with a 4 speed transmission and 4:11 gears that wouldn't go over 70 mph for more than about 5 minutes without running hot.

i sold both for the down payment on a highway friendly 1998 jetta glx which i've had ever since and have managed to only put around 80,000 miles on. it's identical to this one and even still has the stock bose tape deck. i'll drive it until it explodes.

I'll Hop on the Bandwagon with the whole car history theme:
Truenative's very first Car was a 1984 Honda Accord Automatic

I drove this until I could learn to drive Stick and take over my next car the 1986 Toyota 4x4 Pickup

This thing was awesome at the time. I installed a 'Pull Out' Tapedeck and had speakers under the seats as well as one of those PA horns in the bed. Unfortunately I hydroplaned on a rainy day and rolled it into the parking lot of a Music store

I didn't have much money at the time so I got a 'Great' Deal on an 86 Mitsubishi Cordia.

This was my first College car and it was absolutely craptastic. I beat the hell out of it commuting back and forth from College & Home. Eventually I lost 5th gear at 80mph and sold it for $700 as a 4 speed (shhhh)

At this point I bought my Stepfather's 85 Buick Regal with the V8 - White with a Maroon Vinyl Top.

What I remember most about this car is that the seat back had no adjustment. It came standard with a ridiculously leaned back position that I think all the gangsters model their current driving posture from today. Also its Huge engine and RWD made it a blast to drive on Dirt Roads in true Dukes of hazard Fashion. One trip with Cronos I remember catching quite a bit of air and both being convinced we were going to crash and die....Good times My Friend, Good Times. Also I lost Reverse gear in this and would have to Pull it out of parking spaces for about 6 months while I saved for a Trans Rebuild. Car was eventually sold for $1000.
And Just Because LK claims to be such a Buick fan I couldn't pass on this google image find.

I bought my next car, a 1986 Volvo 240 Sedan at my neighbors garage sale.

These aren't much on style but Damn was that a good car! I drove that poor thing to about 50 phish shows and I was involved in 3 hit and run accidents in this and eventually sold it for $1500 with a smashed rear quarterpanel. The AC was still ice cold though!

I replaced that with another Volvo but I wised up and got an 87 Wagon. This is probably still my favorite car of all time. If you even need a good car for not much money, seek one of these out, they will run forever as long as you don't sink them on a boat ramp which I did

After I gave the Volvo a Death Bath I borrowed a Car for a bit while I was shopping for Old Land Rovers. While they are exceedingly cool I realized that they are almost impossible to get parts for and I just happened to drive by a1987 Toyota FJ60 Landcruiser at at an Export shop and Made a Deal to buy it before they sent it to Haiti.

I still have the truck, I usually use it to tow my boat but I actually drove it into work today

Because the Truck gets about 10MPG I bought my grandmothers 85 Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo:
'
I shipped this from California to SOFLA and it served as my Daily Driver Until about a Year ago. This was also the car that started me into Autocross. Very Fun to drive! It had its ups and downs but I still had a hard time letting go when I sold it a couple of months ago.

I've always wanted one of these so when a former tenant of mine told me he was selling his 1982 VW camper Van I jumped at the chance.

Its no daily driver but I love it for Road Trips and Concerts. Very Fun to own, and when you park and put the top up every old bastard wants to come up and tell you stories about when they had one. Also note my Keg-O-Rator fits right in the sliding door. Camping + Homebrew = Drunken Fun!

To this Point you may notice I had never owned a car newer than 1987. This was true until about a year ago when I jumped the 90s altogether and got my 2001 VW Golf 4 door 1.8turbo

Great car, not all that fun to drive because it is an automatic although it does have the turbo.

Mid year last year I picked up a 94 Miata as a dedicated race car which is also very fun to drive:

Not exactly cars but I also have a 1967 BSA Motorcycle which I rebuilt myself

I don't Ride much after a really close call with another car scared the shit out of me

Last but not least here is my Boat a Hewes Stalker Flats boat.

Basically it is designed to fish in really shallow water and haul ass from spot to spot. I just replaced the old 70hp Johnson with a 90hp Yamaha

Edit for Missing VW bus pic

Not rich, in debt to my eyebrows for the seven years.
Seriously, it only cost 35.5 grand on the road.

Holy fuck.

True - you're a hippie dude. Give me your boat and then I'll trade that for your motorcycle.

Actually I think my Boat is probably worth more than any of my cars, not sure I can give it away just yet. I will be glad to take you fishing though. I have been toying with the idea of selling my bike but after going through the rebuild I kind of have a personal connection. I think it would feel like I was letting someone else bang my GF or something. I also have a 1962 Triumph 3TA in pieces I never got around to restoring too.
