i got a list of new movies i want to catch this year, admittidly most arent going to be critically acclaimed, but i'm a sucker for the hollywood blockbuster, entertainment over content. acouple i may just download rather than pay to watch, but i'm still interested:

sweeny todd - tim burton and johnny depp fan

indiana jones - interested in seeing if they crap it up or not

iron man - sucked into the hype, and fan of the comic

dark night - interested in seeing a "darker" batman film

bond 22 - genuinley liked daniel craig as bond

star trek - old sci fi/trek fan

avp requiem - loved aliens quadrilogy (1st 2 mainly) and predator

cloverfield - the whole hype and mystery shit is doing its thing

hellboy 2 - cos i love ron perlman in the role

is there an films that might sneek under the radar and be worth watching, even ones with content cos i do have half a brain.

I'm upset that you failed to mention Rambo.

X-Files 2 - just to see how chubbed Gillian Anderson has become since falling off the face of the planet

The Watchmen - let's see if they turn this in to the train wreck that was I Am Legend

And how can we ignore Anal Cream Pie 22? Finger licking good. Not to mention the Steve Irwin Death Tape...

Far from a train wreck Mr. Spielburg.

LK! What movie were you watching, brother? Such a schlockfest let down that movie was... bring on Charlton Heston's version anyday...

Cloverfield on the other hand looks ace Not to mention my trailer is showing in front of it for the opening week in US theatres... so I might be biased a little...

watched legend last night, apart from the listening to gods plan, liked it thoroughly, made good use of the classic hitchcock build up of suspense and anti climax to get you going.

x files 2 may be good, in a guilty kind of way. anderson's still got the goods, see Straightheads. its like getting a mauling from the swarm, but without the revenge part

Now, I liked the Chuck Heston version a lot, but if schlocky is the term of distinction, I think we're using it on the wrong film.

My only problem with I Am Legend is the massively stupid fucking vampire CG, which was like they let Wotak into the studio. And it should have ended about 120 seconds sooner than it did.

What's your trailer?

Universal contracted me to design an online game (I'm probably best known for those Exmortis point n click flash games) for them to market the new Mars Volta album release.

They then decided to throw a whole heap of cash at me to put together a cinema quality trailer for the game and the album within a week... trial by fire indeed. But going to be fucking stoked to see it on the big screen when it hits AND in front of the movie I am most looking forward to this year...

I am also a huge fan of Mr. Day-Lewis. I hope at some point he gets the acknowledgment he deserves as one of the finest actors of not just his generation but of all-time.

Wow. I'm a HUGE fan of Deloused in the Comatorium. Frances the Mute was okay, but took a bit too much effort. Have you gotten a chance to listen to the new album?

Mutant Chronicles may satisfy my need for bad science fiction. It might be genuinely good, or it might be Starship Troopers (which was a great bad sci-fi movie) or it might just suck.

I watched a few remarkable films this week.

I saw Beowulf, and it rocked. I must live under a rock because I was not aware that it was all CGI. I'm glad, because it made for some incredible perspective shots, like spears and arrows jabbing into the lens of the camera.

3:10 to Yuma is a remake of a western from the late 50's, I believe. It stars Christian Bale, Russel Crowe and Ben Foster. I'm not a fan of Westerns, but this film had grit and didn't have Charlie Sheen and his brother. This is a must watch.

I watched Kevin Bacon's new film, Death Sentence and man, this was one of my favorites of the year. For one, it has Bacon in it, and the guy cannot make a shitty film, in my opinion. This film is reminiscent of Taxi Driver, except Kevin Bacon's character has a more fucked up haircut and kills much more people.
