^ I hear ya... But a lot of times the rules companies set are more as a deterent... Like our rule that we are not able to bring in media players, thumb drives or external hard drives in case we steal something... yet we bring our corporate l;aptops home and most BlackBerry handhelds have SD Cards now...lol

dent: I cannot email directly here from my phone (at least I don't think I can), so I email it using MMS to myself and then simply upload it. My phone has an insane camera and even cooler photo editing software which allows me to choose a ton of pre-edited filters for photos or movies.
I also have teh BlackJack, and yes, it does Sepia... also, I can make pictures say "Happy Birthday" with a cartoon cake included. Srsly |

I absolutely agree with you - without a data package a good portion of my phone is not being used. I shall take care of this soon. Even without it, though, I dig having a top-notch camera, a full qwerty keyboard and excellent multimedia capabilities (video/photo/audio/video game). There's so much software packed into Windows M5 that the phone will die before I understand it all.
The phone's battery is absolute shit, so, Samsung ships the phone with an extra pack, which almost makes it ok.

here is what i do on my nokia:
1) select a photo
2)i hit "send"
3)send "via multimedia" (because i have the option to send via infrared  )
4)i can then see the image inserted, but in text form. eg instead of having the photo it just says <1234.jpg>. then i can type after this, so i put my password, then if i want i put qqwhatever
5)if i hit send again it asks for a phone number. instead, i select "options"
6) under options i select "send to email"
7)i type [the email address which is posted in the original post to this thread]
8)i hit send
i wasn't sure it would work correctly, but it does.

I'll try this, since I MMS straight to Gmail anyway. I didn't realize this is what I was supposed to be doing in the first place.
Technically, no. In practice, possibly. Here's how.
MMS is just SMS with multimedia embedded.
The cam at thissite.com account is a plain-old, vanilla email address. It doesn't accept SMSes and certainly not SMSes with pictures in them. (I wish to fuck it did.)
The trick? Some carriers -- probably on some subset of phones, even -- are interested enough in enabling your snazzy modern phone usage that if you specify an email address as the destination of an SMS, they'll route it such themselves. Your phone still sends SMS, but your carrier traps it and shunts it into an email server somewhere and from that point on, it's an email.
I point this out because this happy magic is not going to be the case for everyone. It's worth trying to see if your carrier does this for you. If it doesn't seem to work, it's not worth going mad over; it's your carrier not going out of their way to be awesome.

I use MMS to mail directly to LINKSWARM CAMPHONE EMAILDAEMON and it seems to work fine. Although there was one picture that Uploaded then disappeared over the weekend. Maybe because I sent more than 3 in a day?

I would be startled if that phone couldn't send emails. If you dig around and can't find the option, it may be that you just need to set the phone up to talk to one of your email accounts. Check that out -- I'll help you set it up if needed.
