I decided to go for a ride to nowhere this weekend and ended up in a place called Gold Point. Its considered a ghost town even though theres a grand total of 27 people that live there. From what I read, as far as ghost towns go, this one is pretty well preserved. I will probably head back in the near future earlier in the day so the lighting is a little better and get some shots of the actual residences that aren't falling in on themselves. The whole time I was strolling around not a soul was in sight. You would have figured with a population of 27 I may have grabbed someones attention.

This is cool. Is there more? Is there any sense of a town, or is it a couple half-abandoned shacks clustered around a well and a firepit?

Yeah theres a sense of town but A: its in the middle of nowhere and B: it was getting late in the day. I didn't want to get caught driving paved/unpaved desert roads at night. I will make an attempt to get back there to get some better photos later in the year when the sun isn't so intense (octoberish).
There is alot of just shit left there, but at the same time alot of "cool" shit which will make for some sweet pics. I do have more photos I took but they aren't spectacular and I would rather use upload.ls.com but being as how I cant log in to LS at work, only Joyfinley, maybe upload.joyfindley.com would be a good idea?

I didn't see anyone else there, but I had that feeling I was being watched. Nothing really creepy, just a feeling that my visit wasn't unnoticed

Heh,I`ve seen an owl in the wild once.My damn car broke down around 6pm one evening and I had to walk down I-90 back to the next exit,and I seen an owl dead on the side of the highway.
FL,you should do it old school style and plant a stake somewhere to claim your land and move in.(or you could place one of those LS dries my cooter out signs somewhere)
