saw this tonight; i thought this was excellent and fit the story well. i guess if you don't like the others you can say it was derivative. then i'd be pointing out this is the third in the series, captain obvious. i can't get enough of the chases/evasion, immersive camerawork, and gritty fighting.
i loved it so much that i did a j turn over a curb on the way home to run over a mugger and then beat my neighbor to death with a ps2 controller. fucking intense.
preemptive fix't: s/mu/ni/
spoiler:
it makes me sad that this will probably be the last, although i read an interview where damon says he might consider a return for a fourth. i really loved the final reveal showing that bourne wasn't just an innocent.
end spoiler
(don't quote spoiler. i'm too lazy to look up the alternate text color you'd need to use. on every other post.)

Agreed, this movie was quite epic and a fitting end to the trilogy. Possibly the best of the three. cheerio |

Still haven't seen it, but it's on my list. It was my favorite of the books, but I can't say I'm thrilled that captain shaky-cam got to direct this one. The last one was okay, but I ended up seeing it from a fairly-close-to-the-front seat. Should have loaded up on dramamine.
Anyone picked up the new Bourne novel? Ludlum's dead, but Eric Van Lustbader has done some decent work in the past. I'm curious to see how he does with this. |

Was very good, and I haven't seen the first two. Am looking forward to them now though.
The jerky, closeup camerawork was great for the action scenes but I think overall it was used too much, as it is in every movie. It's not annoying enough to piss me off, fortunately, as it appears to be the wave of the future.

I liked it but had the following thoughts during the experience:
"Fuck, this chase is taking forever."
"I bet that was a cool fight scene, too bad all I could make out was a shoulder, a wristwatch and a shower head."
"He just walked right in the building, into the office and lucked up on the guy answering his phone with his full name? Why even attempt realism if you're gonna do shit like this?"
"Did he swim away? Is he headed for Atlantis?" |

I saw this over the weekend. Great end to the trilogy. Excellent Movie. I only wish our covert ops were as good as in the movie, then mebbe we would have Osama and an empty stash of WMD's
