It has to support automation - in other words, it can accept a command-line parameter (the IP address) and provide text output. Does anyone know of a small, free (or with a distribution license) utilty that could handle this? I've scoured the web, but the best one I can find so far is from Sysinternals, and most of the time it can't find the whois info. Thx. It does not help that it doesn't recognize the "help" parameter... But I think I might have found something that works: Phil Ottewells Free Software. I compiled it for Windows, and it seems to work great. The problem with SysInternals is it doesn't let you specify a NIC server, and it's really kind of stupid. This one doesn't have that problem.
