I would have thought this a weird category, but you know, it actually works.

That one's nice.

Oh yeah, and I am digging on the cat with different eyes. The darker eye looks like it contains a camera inside that is ready to shoot out dangerous beams of anger if you step out of line.

lolers, thanks guys. a slight few were taken with a point and shoot Sony (the jetta ones). the rest were taken with a nikon d50 (with either a 18-55mm kit lens, 12-24 tokina, or a 50mm 1.8)

I'd kill for any of those lenses (except the kit lens). I'm working off a cheap Fuji point and shoot at the moment but am looking to get a Canon DSLR since I already have a couple of lenses.

Love the lighting on quite a few of those shots.

thanks. yeah to be honest, if i did it all over again, i think i might go the Canon route. while prices, specifications, and products are very competitive, and i have no complaints about Nikon, it always seemed to me while searching for accessories on ebay (lenses, flashes, filters, ect.) canon seemed to have an edge as far as value for the money.

One of the nice things about the new Canon lenses (and I'm not sure if Nikon has adopted this or not) is that the image stabilization is built into the lens, not the camera. It's an arm and a leg for them, but they're running a full line as far as I know, not just in the extreme long lenses like they used to.

nikon has this as well. the big lens companies like sigma, tokina, tamron have all adopted it as well. its called VR II for the nikons and USM for the canons. it will easily double the price of most lenses.

i'll admit i'm a contrast hoe, but i do try to shot when the light best allows so not much other tweeks aside from mild levels, a tad of sharpening, maybe a saturation boost here and there. i'm not really a fan of altering my shots. i never crop photos, i always feel kinda guilty doing too much to the photo.
