Right, this site is currently in the AQ, where I think it will be rejected.
However, I was actually quite keen to review it, because it's obviously someone's attempt at the next Digg or Reddit and I thought it'd be cool if The Swarm had first blood at picking it apart (constructively, dammit).
First here's a clicky: truemors. Notice right away how the name sounds like 'tumors'. This is not a good start.
Also notice that the site seems to load (for the occupants of #megarad at the time of writing) like we're back in 1995 and using 56k modems. You know how Digg loads slow because of all the web 2.0 poop they throw at your browser in the background? I suspect this is the cause. And it sucks if it's a real effect.
However, get beyond the load time and what you find (in the rough, for now) is a very nice-looking attempt at social bookmarking. It seems that you can just jump right in and start posting links under a whole variety of tags with no need to register [edit: this is true, but as it turns out, an actual human reviews your submission and manually approves it. I like this system if it avoids Digg-style voting blocs but not if you end up with over-zelous censorship of innocuous stuff, such as this review  ]. What this says to me is that Truemors could turn into a mix of pretty much all your favourite sites; almost as if slashdot, fark and b0g got together and had some sort of slick-designed web 2.0 lovechild. And I think this is why I wanted to review it.
Where the clunky new technology seems to creep in is the ability to post links my leaving a phone message, or via email, as-well-as on the site itself. Cool pony-tricks indeed. But necessary? I don't know.
Anyway, I'd be interested to know what The Swarms thinks. It must say something that I've never felt the urge to review a site in these forums off my own bat. Maybe Truemors.com'll die in flames and we can call it the 'Lefen effect'? :>
(Also, Ima post this review as a Truemor, and if the process is at all clunky or Digg-style censorship gayness happens along the way, then I'm coming back here and removing all my positive praise.)

We haven’t figured out how to let people democratize and demonstrate pictures and video yet, but we’re working on it. Actually, we know how to do it; we’re simply afraid that people will democratize and demonstrate too much if-you-know-what-we-mean. When you see pictures and video here, someone inside Truemors (that is, a “truemorist”) did the posting.
edit edit: this review link was approved in only a few minutes. good for them, i wonder how this system will work with massive traffic?

N00bz. That big spike is from Slashdot. I'd like to see what that chart looks like in a month.
Oddly, like Newsvine -- another site I wouldn't mind reverse-reviewing, now that you make me think of it -- it has traffic, but no interaction. No one's commenting on anything.
EDIT: Oh look, it's already gay.
Can anyone find the Slashdot story? Or am I misreading that?

Credit for what, exactly? For having a domain name? For the founder being famous? I get the distinct impression that everyone involved with this site, from conception to implementation, took it real easy.
This site is getting roundly bashed around the net, and the more I play with it, the more I see why. It's like someone's I-had-a-neat-idea-while-buying-groceries afternoon project running on an old home server. I like the guy's principles regarding administration, but they seem to comprise a terrible way to run a site.
As for content, I don't see the point. I see a different username on each submission, but where are all the votes? Where are the comments? With all the traffic this thing's getting, it sure isn't getting any traffic. More to the point, I don't want a concentrator for news that may not even be true. 450 people upvoting a FourFast FourFurious rumor doesn't make it true (thank christ).
On the other hand, Twitter exists, and reality certainly didn't consult me on that one, so...
I'd unfuck the brand-- call it TrueRumors and be done with the cutesy mashup -- start some moderative housecleaning and get it on a real backend stat.
