They let you scan your checks rather than mail them in to make a deposit. They deliver a minimum of BOA-like BS

I have also decided to ditch Bank of America. Fuck them indeed. $6/month maintenance on my checking account? Wtf maintenance are they doing? Last I checked, bank accounts don't need oil changes...
Anyway, I'm moving my savings account into HSBC Direct, and I'm shopping around for a new checking account. I'm planning to move this summer/fall, so I'm not sure if I should go with a small, local bank and have to switch again, or if I should take the best big-bank offer available (which happens to be the free-checking acct. at Wachovia -- the bank I angrily withdrew my tuition money from two years ago...). |

I fired all banks and went to a credit union a couple three years ago. Never looked back. Sooooo much bettah.

I got a ING direct account for savings, just looking for a checking to keep money available. Probably gonna go Credit union, maybe University Federal Credit Union.
Well fuck. My former bank, my cell phone service, and my cable/internet service are top 5.

Last I checked the interest rate at ING was about a percent and a half higher than my wife's credit union. ING is teh rox0r...
