So, this weekend I was down south of Austin doing a book signing at a Renaissance Festival, and I happened to be about twenty yards away from the petting zoo area. The moment the festival opened and the patrons began coming in, a weird and slightly disturbing thing began happening: Almost every time someone would see the petting zoo, they would say, "Look! Goats!" BUT what I heard was "Look! Goatse!"
I know, I know, this might not sound very disturbing to anyone else, but hey, words are my profession. One of them, at least. And to have one word lay seige to another word in my mind is bloody well befuddling.
Anyway, that peculiarity led me to wonder how being a part of The Swarm has affected the rest of you in real life, in good or bad ways.
Do tell.

A. To answer the professor's question, I dunno. Honestly, I can't think of any time where I thought, "Curse you LS for planting (whatever) in my brain/life." Of course, I haven't been here all that long and I don't take RL seriously, so it follows that I don't take VR seriously. I do heart the swarm, its just not a huge influence in my RL tomfoolery.

C. That last part is perplexing. How would one regulate the textual sodomization without censoring (LS doesn't want to become FARK or DIGG or some shit)? We are all guilty of it at some point or another. Perhaps, a no flaming/no negatives area besides the newbs forum? Like a whole set of forums where negative posts and flaming are not allowed? I'd be down for that. I'd even put up my time to moderate it. Anyways, probably a subject for a whole new thread.

Probably a dozen times a day, I double-check -- yea, then triple-check -- an email to overlords or public intranet post or IM to colleague to make sure that the following didn't sneak from my clipboard into an official posting at any point...
"THEN THAT AUSCHWITZ SPACENIGGER SHE-FUCKED A NAMBLA-MAGIC DONKEYRAPE-HAVEN BARNYARD ASS-EEL LINKSWARM.COM DOWNS-SYNDROME NECK-VAGINA"
Because I pull nifty tricks with my AIM client, if there's a carriage return in my clipboard, and I happen to paste it, it will get sent line-by-line without buffering, before I have a chance to sterilize any textual caltrops, so I literally never paste anything into AIM without testing it somewhere neutral first, like a Notepad instance. Then and only then do I proceed. 20 minutes in IRC or on here and God only knows what's in my clipboard.
I also have learned to cackle more quietly, so as not to alert any bystanders that I am occasionally up to internet shenanigans.
I also deliberately keep my mouth extra shut when passing anyone black in the hall so that I don't shout "NIGGER!" That's more of a hypochondriac-tourettes thing though.
At bars -- and I guess in public in general -- I occasionally regret not having a better camera in my phone, since I frequently see bizarre shit I'd love to share here.

I got a camera phone for the express purpose of capturing whack shit to share.
I also have to manually hold down the switch in my brain to keep from yelling "NIGGER!!" at the two black guys I work with.
I find myself calling nearly everyone and everything around me "fagit" in my mind or under my breath.
I set up a Linux server at home in order to have a shell I can log into for IRC and for posting to LS during the day at work since LS is blocked. (Which reminds me, I still need to get SSH + Squid working.)
