Reading these lists, I can tell I have no talent for spotting a bad movie. I've thoroughly enjoyed many of the listed films without knowing they're bad.
I've actually got quite a zombie brain when it comes to videos and can only NOT stomach the "chick flick" films.
Other than that i can only pick out a bad movie because of its blatant technical errancy. So I'd have to list:
Hackers
Swordfish
Mission Impossible
Demolition Man |

Pluto fucking Nash. Biggest flop in movie history. Loads of fun. It was on HBO this morning, so I watched it for, shit, the tenth time or so.
Edit:
-Repo Man
-Men at Work (Oh look. Somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy!)
-Starship Troopers
-Flash Gordon!
-Hudson Hawk (ball-ball!)
-Navy SEALs
And as for Waterworld ... I saw that at the dollar theatre, and I still feel ripped off, even what, 12 years later? I want to go see Kevin Costner's band at some point, if only so I can stand in the front row and scream at him until he gives me my money back. That fucking hack ... he should have quit making movies after Field of Dreams.

Judgment Night was great...Dennis Leary+Cuba Gooding and Emilo = FUN.
I agree with a few others members have posted...but damn SFW, Ultraviolet? That movie was really, really, really fucking bad. Im amazed anyone enjoyed it let alone a film school grad. :p
Some of my guilty pleasures are:
Hellraiser: any of em
Maverick: Gibson 'n Garner
MUNCHIES:nigga what?
Toxic Avenger: all of em.
Robocop: (This movie isnt really bad at all but its kinda campy fucking hilarious and is in my top 10 all time faves)
Surf Nazi's Must Die...check this out if you can. You will be delightfully disapointed.
Probably all the Nightmare on Elm Street flicks.
Oh, and fuck!...is there ANYONE who likes Adam Sandlers 8 Crazy Nights? I fucking detest that movie and just wanted to know if anyone actually liked that film or could watch it without jamming pencils in their eyes/ears...

I have a new one (at least for me) to add to my list of "bad" movies I love:
Simon Sez: Starring DENNIS FUCKING RODMAN. I was surfing the net and I had the TV on one of the cinemax channels and it came on, I immediately knew I had to DVR it. Rodman's actually not all that horrible as an "action hero", but having that fat comedian (the one that looks like a happy Buddha) and Dane Cook to back him up helps. There's also a sex scene that is just kinda weird, I don't remember any necked boobies, but there were alot of flashing lights with an added strobe effect on the camera. I damn near seizured. The chick is buff as all hell, but she appears to have her undies on the whole friggin time. To say the least, I loved it.
I was going to add Pluto Nash as well, cause I just saw it on one of the many HBO channels for the first time. Its as if someone saw "Bowfinger" and then actually made a real Eddie Murphy sci-fi action comedy. Its horribly great.
Oh, and I also liked Waterworld. Speaking of bad Costner films that I like, why was he the only one in Robin Hood without an accent????? He said, and I quote, "I just ran out of time"!! Man that is true dedication to your craft.

Freddy Got Fingered which starred Tom Green, who also directed, and probably wrote it. I saw this in theaters for some bizarre reason, and remember laughing really hard at a few parts. Reading Ebert's "Worst Movies" list, this one showed up. The whole thing is on YouTube.
It is funny in how impossibly bad it is. I think that some day it will be recognized as some kind of Bunuel/anarchic genius, because it is so insane.
Streets of Fire was supposed to be a hit in the 80s. Rock and roll soundtrack, big fight scenes, etc. Budgets went over, all that shit. I had this vague childhood memory of two guys fighting with sledgehammers, and I tracked it down to this movie. Linked is that scene. It stars a young Willem Defoe. It is a horrible fucking scene; poorly written, poorly choreographed, poorly acted, poorly directed, even the art direction is poor. I bet the catering sucked too.
Laserblast was another childhood memory, this one of a guy with a crazy laser on his hand and a weird metal growth on his chest. Sounds a little cool, but is an MST3k classic. The whole thing is on youtube, but it isn't worth watching. The movie is actually really dull. |
