They're up. Let me know if you have any display issues. I've tested the layout a bit but not exhaustively.
If the links aren't taking up the whole link area, or if there are any funky display issues in general, make sure to try a hard refresh before posting. That is, for Internet Explorer, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking the refresh button in your toolbar. In Firefox, I believe you hold down Shift instead.
Still look wierd? Post here.
Dent worked his ass off to produce these over the weekend, taking in some of the ideas contributed earlier in this thread -- notably mundhra's. Thanks, Dent -- you are the motherfucker par excellance, and thanks to all fags who helped out with ideas.
I spent a little bit of time porting the icons to the Kaput theme, so they'll work there, but look sort of ridiculously like graphics from the 8-bit Nintendo, and seeing as that's pretty appropriate, and I also don't care about that theme, word.

PM me browser/platform details. I've noticed those images butt right up against the link title under IE but haven't yet been able to pin down the particulars for some reason. Anyone else experiencing this, also PM me browser/OS details.

One little thingy, can you make visited links white and non visited links the orange color of the theme?
My eyes immediately get drawn to the icons on the left and I think you may want to have more attention on the links instead.

The more I look at the Animation icon, the more I want to change it. That one does kind of stick out like a sore thumb.
I'm stuck though, wtf can we use as a recognizable animation icon?

Actually, I did this for Movies & TV, but Vas use the film stock instead.
Vas, maybe change the Disney icon to the Camera?

It'd say "film" as well as the filmstrip snippet does, if not better than, leading to confusion.
I think the tri-bubble says animation better than anything I can think of, short of maybe an actual flipbook-style stick-figure animation. Not sure how we could pull that off without it being noisy and/or confusing, but it's possibly workable.

Reading this post makes me wonder if I fucked up an .htaccess rule and we're looking at different things somehow.
We've got a well-known cartoon character there now. Switching it to a different well-known cartoon character will probably end up being just as theoretically actionable -- more so, since I'm not sure one can be sued for drawing three circles to silhouette a 100-year-old cultural icon -- and less effective in almost any case.
I appreciate the brain work, though. It's difficult shit to boil a concept down into 25 pixels, have it match, and have it look good.
Are there any other areas that could use tightening up?
