I took my son out today to a music store today to use a gift card he got for Christmas. It was his first music purchase; Appetite for destruction and Shout at the Devil. It made me think of the first album I bought, Black Sabbath Paranoid.

What was your first album?

Cassettes bought at Strawberry's or the like at age... 10? 11?

Thanks for making me feel young for a change, you old faggots. :)

I think the first music I actually paid for was Pink Floyd: The Wall.

However, I think the first music I stole was .38 Special: Wild-Eyed Southern Boys. I stole it from my step-brother (that prick had it coming).

too much smoking shit drugs and self abuse has rendered my memory a useless lump of quivering turd.

so its either smashing pumpkins - melencholie and the infinite sadness

or

nirvana - in utero

the first album i EVER got was a free compilation tape from collecting twix chocolate bar wrappers, when i was like 5 or 6 or something as irritatingly young

^ Do you still have it ?

I have everything I ever bought save the few cassettes that melted on my dash in the hot California sun, and some 8-tracks that mysteriously flew off a dam into the river.

shit yeah, its the bloody reason that i now love dexy's midnight runners, sadly enough. play that enough times when your young and it brings some kind of pavlovian response when you here it.

Here’s what you do. You lock the boy in a room with the Live After Death album playing in a loop thru headphones duct taped to his head. Don’t let him out until he can recite the entire album word for word. If that doesn’t correct him then the situation is hopeless.
