In a word, this movie was FANTASTIC.
You will not leave the theater thinking it was a thin remake of Star Wars wrapped around a watered down Middle Earth. You won't find the chatacters uninteresting and derivative, or the plot to be mickey mouse tripe penned by a fifteen year old Lucas worshipper.
You will get to see Luke Skywalker, uh, I mean Eragon embark on a heroic quest with Obi-wan, I mean his Wise Mentor, because his uncle is killed on his farm by Darth Vader, I mean the Shade character, after Leia, I mean what's her face, sends Luke-agon R2d2, oh, I mean a dragon's egg, and then the egg hatches and becomes an X-wing I mean a dragon and the director uses a clever plot device so it can grow up fast enough to keep the story moving along, then they set off and meet Han Solo I mean the Spunky Sidekick and Luke-agon gets a light saber, I mean a flaming sword, and Obi-wan gets killed in the Death Star, I mean Dark Fortress, and they meet up with the rebel alliance and kill Vader and The Emperor grows angry enough to leave an opening for a sequel.
Overall, Eragon reminds one of the longest run on sentence in cinema history with special effects attached. It makes me feel almost guilty that I walked in without paying because there was no ticket taker in hallway.
p.s. be sure your cell phone has a few nifty games loaded, you may want to check them out.
