I wouldn't classify what I do as actually playing golf. I hit golf balls with golf clubs on a golf course, but I spend at least half the time looking for lost balls.

I have played golf. I don't enjoy playing golf though. I shank a lot of balls, but I hit the fuck out them. I usually have more fun at a driving range, trying to hit the tractor than I ever would on the course. |

Fuck yeah I play golf. I worked for a golf company for years, so I was almost forced to learn how to play, and always for free. When you say you travel, where are you playing?

I love playing golf. My old family used to own a golf course. A few of the "Assholes" I used to call family still do own it.
Hell I even helped shape some of the holes with my mad bulldozing skillz! |

Yes sir. Worked there for for about a decade as their packaging designer. I resigned to get out of Mass, but I contract for them as a golf ball logo designer, ya know, the custom imprints.
It was cool though, because they had a free golf league, free lessons, free equipment, equipment testing and free golf balls. All of that, and I still can't get my HC under a 12.

Last weekend I played my 60th game for this year
Its not a sport, it's an addiction. In my bag:
Taylor made rx7 irons w/ 4 wedges
Talyor made 2,3,4 and 5 woods
Circa 61 Scotty putter
Calloway x 460 driver
The game kept me from going nuts.

My bag is all Titleist irons, 2-9, Titeist wedge (absolutely hate it) and a Cobra ladies wedge (it's small, lightweight graphite, fucking love it) and a Titleist 975 9˚ driver. I use a Scotty Cameron but I'm not very comfy with it, I'm probably going to find something new.
I play with Titleist HVC or DT Solo balls.
How's the Scotty putter feel for you?

I went to the pro shop and tried every putter that they had there. I wound up with three choices at the end. I was using their putting greens in the store and the circa 61 just sank more 20 foot putts for me basically because of the balance. When you lift it up by two fingers, it finds a good center balance. It is a great club.
Ping was a good one and then minuzo was a good one as well. I prefer a clasic design rather than the two or three ball image putters. They are really backheavy and I tend to swing a back heavy putter to hard.
I had a set of cobras, they were good clubs, but I found that the club face did not grab the ball well, especailly the wedges as good as it should have. I had to really smack the ball to get any backspin out of it at all. I also prefer to use an approach wedge, which was not offered at the time I bought the set of cobras. I hear the Cobra driver is good, I haven't had a chance to swing it at a tee box yet.
I just bought this new widget that has two leds on it and it attaches to the hosel of the club. When you swing, the lights come on and draw lines, one red and one green. If the lines intersect at the ball, the club face is square. You can also practice in / out and out / in swings by watching the trace of the lights. If you are interested I can post a link.

Since we are now playing "Whats in my Bag" instead of where is Hobo gonna play when he travels, I will respond:
Irons: 4-SW Ping G4 steel shafts. I also added a Ping G4 3 Iron HL which i only use off the tee
Driver: Cleveland 460 Ti 9.5 degee with a Grafalloy blue stiff shaft with a low kick
3W: TaylorMade 200 series with a steel shaft
4W: TaylorMade 17 Degree Raylor with a bubble shaft stiff. Its vintage 1997 and the oldest club in my bag but its my favorite and it ain't comin out.
putter: Taylor-Made Rossa center shafted mallet style. Its a little heavy but most of the greens I play on are fairly slick.
Ball: Usually Titliest Pro V. I dislike the Pro Vx, and sometimes I will play the Callaway Ball just for something different to look at. I will also play the NXT ball.
LK: walking a round of golf is the equivelant of a 4+ mile walk. Or take a cart and drink many beers. Either way WIN WIN!
