Words are a path to stories that can influence your life. Through the escapism that film provides, there are chunks of insight interwoven into the nonsense of pervaded fantasy that strokes our adrenaline dead existence.
Latest discernment:
Han: Life's simple, you make choices and you don't look back.
Han: Who you choose to be around you lets you know who you are.
Shawn Boswell: I've gotta admit, it felt good! It felt like...
Neela: Like everything else just disappears...
Shawn Boswell: No past and no future...
Neela: No problems. Just the moment...
Lieutenant Boswell: The Japanese have a saying, "The nail that sticks out gets hammered."
Quotes from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

I wholeheartedly agree, many of my life's lessons have been gleaned from the eternal kinotype.
The Dude: Fuck sympathy! I don't need your fuckin' sympathy, man, I need my fucking johnson!
Walter Sobchak: Saturday, Donny, is Shabbos, the Jewish day of rest. That means that I don't work, I don't get in a car, I don't fucking ride in a car, I don't pick up the phone, I don't turn on the oven, and I sure as shit don't fucking roll! Shomer shabbos!
Walter Sobchak: This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass!
Ricky Slade: Here's 50 bucks, take this in case I get drunk and call you a bitch later.
Thug: His gun is a fucking starter pistol! I can see the red plug in your fucking barrel!
Ricky Slade: Listen to me, I intentionally make this gun look that way because I am smart.
White Goodman: Nobody makes me bleed my own blood. NOBODY.
Captain Koons: The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He'd be damned if any of the slopes were gonna get their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright. So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.

Gilbert: I met a girl today
Booger: So what, you get in her pants?
Gilbert: She's not that type of girl, Booger.
Booger: Why? Does she have a penis?
Veronica's Mom: When teenagers complain that they want to be treated like human beings, it's usually because they are being treated like human beings.
J.D.: People will look at the ashes of Westerburg and say, "Now there's a school that self-destructed, not because society didn't care, but because the school was society." Now that's deep.
Lloyd: The first time I set eyes on Mary Swanson, I just got that old fashioned romantic feeling where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling, Lloyd.
Louis: Eckhart saw Hell too. He said: The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, he said. They're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and... and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth. |
