whenever I connect to my works webmail site I constantly get "error on page" and something that goes like
line 0
char 0
error Object expected
something..
then the url of the page I am on
this happens over and over...I have done everything from trying monsters tech support "sorry, your on your own here" to reloading windows...
This happens on either of my home computers yet everyone else from tech support to the boss (who is on a home computer about a mile away) doesn't have a single problem. If I clear the cache and cookies it will work for 2 or 3 clicks before an error jumps up again. If I restart the computer it will go 4 or 5 clicks before an error. I can use paypal, ebay, my bank, this website, any other website and no problems at all.
I also installed and tried firefox and netscape, same problems!
My boss can go into my webmail at the same time I am in there and not get an error..?
Both of my home computers have XP Pro, both play games fine, browse any other website....but always get these nigga-script errors...
any suggestions?
please let me know what other info you would need.

A j.avascript error on someone elses site isn't something you can do anything about. Is this problem stopping you from accessing your email or is it just annoying you? If the latter, then I suggest that you suck it up and live with it, buttercup. If the former then maybe try using a different browser or disabling j.avascript entirely. A slightly better solution might be grabbing your email directly off the server using Outlook or Thunderbird, assuming you have POP3 access.
Now lets see what all the Swarmers who actually know something about internets have to say
edit: oh look, linkswarm hates the word j.avascript LOL

If the site works normally otherwise, you can suppress the error message.
In IE, open up the properties and look at the Advanced tab - there's a couple of settings to never show nigga-script errors.

Likely your work's webmail uses an older version of java applet than what you have at home.
Why not just configure your home pc's outlook to connect to your work mailbox? If tech support won't help you with the java install then ask for the pop and smtp settings. |

My boss won't let me use outlook because she lost data twice in hard drive crashes and she wants it saved online, also she wants to be able to log into my account to get emails from customers directly.
like I said in the original post I get the same errors in IE, Firefox, and netscape...the page locks up or is not found.
first thing I did was turn off the error notification, but the error keeps the page from working. Spending 8 hours refreshing the page every time I make a change just sucks.
When i called the tech support, they told me to update my java on www.java.com, so I have the latest version as per their instructions.
thank you for the suggestions.

There's certainly an option in thunderbird to download new messages to your computer but not delete them from the server. This would work for you both because your boss would still be able to read your emails via webmail. Dunno about outlook though.
And your tech guy suggested updating Java to fix a J.avascript problem? Daymn
edit: oh yeah, LS hates that word.

O good.
Select your mail account in the left-hand window.
Then in the right-hand window click "View settings for this account".
Select "Server settings" from the popup menu and check "Leave messages on server" and "Until I delete or move them from Inbox"
Luck.
