When I move the mouse the cursor will move then freeze. I have cleaned cache, ran ad-aware and Spy Doctor.
Its driving me nuts any ideas what else it might be?

If it's a wireless mouse, it might be the batteries. If it has a trackball, the ball might be dirty, in which case remove the trackball and clean the rollers on the inside.

Is it optical or old school? Could be a matter of some dirt somewheres. Could also have to do with the surface you're using the mouse on.

Step 1: Open up the ball compartment
Step 2: Scrape the crud out
Step 3: Put it back together
Step 4: Get an optical mouse.

I have noticed when this happens that its usually not mechanical. Try updating the drivers or removing the device and then reinstalling it after rebooting. This is of course assuming you popped the ball out and cleaned everything. Is the mouse ps2 or usb? If usb, is the mouse plugged into a usb hub along with other devices? etc etc etc
