I love scary movies. I am not affected fearfully by them. There are only two exceptions to this: The Blair Witch Project and The Ring. With both movies, the story, the plot, the concept, were all unrealistic and had absolutely nothing to do with why they scared me. It was the visuals and the audio. In the case of the Blair Witch Project, I had a bad trip in the woods at night one time and the movie gave me flashbacks like a mutha. With the Ring? It was like sitting through one of my fucking nightmares for 2 hours. Just the little black and white freakily moving images throughout the film. Go see it and you'll see what I'm referring to. I came home and had to hang out with stuff like this http://www.homestarrunner.com/firsttime.html
for an hour to come back to my senses. Christ.

I totally agree with you I haven't seen the ring yet, but everyone I talk to all agree it was a pretty scary movie. And as for Blair Witch...That scared the hell out of me, especially since I went and saw the movie a couple of days before I was to go camping.
Now whats the difference between the asian movie and the american remake...besides the actors, voice overs and crap like that...is the story better, or is it the same...?
I thought I heard the movie was modeled after a series over there or something like that? Am I wrong on that...
Im starting a new thread for Scarriest movies ever...go check it out, and put in your vote. |

blair witch sucked nuts.. it was not a scarey movie one bit.. and the ring had a shithole of a plot and left you realizing what a craphole money raping horror film it was at the very end. My two cents on this are correct, please do not refute.

What are you talking about man...Blair Witch rocked...
For a movie with a low budjet and all the hype behind it, it was well pulled off...now if you watched the movie after everyone knew it was a fake movie, it probably sucked...but seeing it one one of the first days out...thinking it really happened, really got to me. Now that I know its fake, I think the movie was all right,
I havent seen the Ring yet, so I can't comment on that, but since you shot both those movies down...what was the scariest flick you ever saw...and your grandmother in the shower does not count. |

Personally speaking, the Blair Witch was a long slimy turd with a nice quarter-inch in the middle and a surprisingly rugged kernel of corn at the end. That kernel hurt coming out, but you can appreciate its weight.
As for kHz' scariest movie, it's Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. I know. I asked him.
