I was reading an article about the 25th anniversery of the computer and had flash backs of the first computer I used. It was a Wang and I played Zork on it around 1981. Here is a pik I found of it.

It used an acoustic modem

I also played on the TRS-80 for a bit

But ultimately Atari stole my heart

How far back do you fags remember?

When I was a kid I had an Atari and a JC Penny 'Pong' unit. Sadly, that was in 1989.

I had an old Hal 9000, it would malfunction almost daily.

They weren't known for their quality.

Timex Sinclair 1000, baby. Oh, the typing, the typing. Byte magazine, typing in several-hundred-line programs, if you typo you're fuked, presumably you could store your program to tape but I didn't know anyone who knew how, so power off and it's gone.

Somewhere I have an ancient three-button Wang mouse I picked up at MIT flea for humor value. It's completely ridiculous, like a cigarette box with three slender rectangular depressable planks at the end.

Who fucked this forum?

My first was a Commodore Vic20, same problems as Vas with the typing, and plugged into the back of the TV like an original Nintendo box, using an R/F convertor. I gave up on computers for a few years after that abortion of a machine, then got a pc-xt clone that swiftly became an AT clone (286). This was a top-of- the- line box - VGA, 1meg of RAM ( on board ) 10 meg HD. I was never going to fill the drive or need a bigger box. Fucking stupid salesman.

I had a TRS-80 with a cassette player for storage. The high school had some Apple II Es in a little computer lab.

I have a vague recollection of these from grade school.
