Oh noes!! I feel deeply ashamed for bouncing my renewal fee, so offer explaination and possible topic for discussion.

I am up to my eyeballs in bills and my wife made a mistake with her maturnity leave and was cut off a month before she thought she was supposed to.

She hasn't been able to get a job in her field even though she has went to 10+ interviews in the last 3 months or so.

Anyhoo... Our treasure chest is slowly emptying when we get possibly a letter from God... No wait... It was from my mortgage company.

Because I've been in my house for a few years and have done a fair bit of renovating I am elligable to redo my mortgage and pay off my debts... or buy a car... or whatever...

I look into it a bit and decide to give it a try!

So I have verbal approval and am waiting to sign the paper work which is supposed to come in today...

I dont know what the rest of you guys think of this plan... But I will now be paying close to $600 less per month and will now only have one debt, my mortgage. Also I took a variable rate instead of the fixed I had before so I am now paying less interest.

Variable is scary I guess, but if I pay attention I should be able to make the switch if needed.

So needless to say... I am feeling a lot less depressed with my situation...and will feel alot better when the papers are signed.

So what does any of this shit have to do with my failing to renew my alpha fee??

LOL I maxed my Credit Cards last week... I figured Hey! If the lawyers are going to pay off all my bills I may as well have the rest of my cash!!

I hope the swarm doesn't crash and promise to get my fees in and buy Vas a round for the trouble!!

I think Loki was working on a swarm welfare system. Talk to him about it. In the meantine, good luck with your financial worries. I'm dirt poor, but I also don't have to worry about anyone but me so who cares.

You don't pay for the Alpha Queue, stupo. It's a donation you're making, not a purchase.

I don't mind letting you slide for a while. A donation to a website somewhere is hardly on the order of keeping your house, or your wife out of the bordello. Plus, I know where you live. (For now.)

Never EVER choose variable rates.Open up the paper and look at all the houses up for auction, those would be former variable interest rate homes up for auction. What happens whenif you get laid off,and have to take a lower paying job?The rates could boost up to crazy amounts and then your fucked. The banks could give a fuck less about your situation. They will just kick you out, auction your house to the highest bidder and make you pay the difference.FUCKED TWICE!!

Sound Advice S_S. I know I'm risking it a bit right now, but hope its going to pay off. My job is fairly secure and I hope to have this house sold within a year or so anyways.

Time for an upgrade if possible.

I know exactly what you are talking about with the Bank Auctions though. Happened to my Dad and my chilhood home...

When we were close to bankrupt when I was younger the bank took our house which was appraised 10 years earlier at $87,000 (and when have you known property value to really drop in a moderately nice rural area?) anyways, Dad had maybe $67K left on the mortgage and the bank sold the house for a steal at 43K... Telling my Dad hey you owe us $24 Grand!

Yeah thats nice.

Yeah I'm agreeing on the dangers of variable rate. I'd stick to the fixed rate, you'll win in the long (and seemingly also the short) run.

Best of luck though.
