Yeah...looks like the record company was in the process of sending it to radio stations. They were doing it digitally to try and prevent just this thing from happening and left a fttp server open for just a few minutes...idiots. Their mistake is our gain. Sweet song. Makes me wanna cancel my Dish Network service. : )

It sounds good. Sounds like Tool, but not very "new" sounding IMO.

I've listened to the new album twice now all the way through. It's plenty "new" sounding as a whole. It's a little heavier and more rockin' than Lateralus . They seem to not be holding anything back as artists and the lyrics are a lot less convoluted. There's plenty of "new" experiemental stuff, but it still sounds like Tool. I love Tool's music and artwork. They remind me a of a modern day Pink Floyd or Led Zepellin. Just all-around great artists that are simply doing their own thing. |

I wouldn't go so far as to compare them to Floyd, but they're good.

Wings of Marie/10,000 Days is very Floydesque. I shed a tear when I heard it for the first time.

You did, huh. How nice for you. I meandered through both of them wondering why I was listening to sleepy mumble-singing punctuated by long, slow sets of drum and guitar followed by more sleepy-mumble singing. I then realized my brain was still stuck in a cantaloop.mid mindset and that was why I was tolerating it. How you got to Pink Floyd from those two excercises in boredom is beyond me.

don't be bitter. the new album is different, but definetely good. That one song...."the pot" is my favorite I think. It's like the "sober" for this decade.
and i don't understand how you can say 10,000 Days is an excercise in boredom. It's a long ass song, yes. It's a bit TOO long, yes. But it still shows their aptitude as a great set of musicians who really know how to play and jam together. I think the best, longest standing band they really stack up against would be Rush. that's the best comparison I can think of. Not necessarily their style of music, but in the overall "vibe" they exude and their ability to just sound good playing together reminds me a lot of Rush's style of live show and performance level in general.
so there

Wings for Marie/10,000 Days is one of the best songs I've ever heard, whether it's from Tool, Floyd, Zeppellin, or Rush. There's a lot of power and Tool manages to be extremely heavy in even their most melodic and seeminly gentle moments. I love all those bands too and yes there are some Tool songs that I skip over when listening to albums, but overall they are highly talented musicians that don't give a shit what feable little panty-wastes such as yourself think.
Right In Two is another song that has instantly been placed on a list with other classic Tool songs. I've posted the lyrics on the song lyric thread. |

I'm glad then, because if there's one thing I'm worried about when I listen to aimless singing it'd have to be whether the musician gives a shit about what I think.

Sexninja's right.
It's boring recycled shit from a band that's grasping at capturing the urgency and originality of earlier work.
Musicianship means nothing to me when it's bi-product becomes a regimented and franchised bore. |

Sweet. Update your journal, so I can predict how you won't learn this lesson and will instead continue to stick your dick into dirty places until you eventually contract the hivvies and die a confused why-me death as IRC looks on in wonder, hilarity, confusion, and terror.

The intro to Vicarious reminds me a lot of Hooker with a Penis.
Compare and contrast.
Maybe it's just me, though.
