SRSLY...Who shot JFK?
I'm not a conspiracy type of guy, but the JFK thing bugs me. I've read the freedom of information act papers. I've heard all sides.

for the longest time i used to think it was oswald, because that's what you're typically told. but the more i've thought about it, the more i beleive it had to have been done by some sort of military. and it was intended to be just as much of a message as much as an assasination. thinking about all the discrepancies and such about where the hit came from, and the precision and publicity that it was carried out in. the scapegoating of oswald makes me think it was done either by a) our own gov't, or b) someone/some gov't very, very powerful with some very strong ties/clout in the us gov't. i don't remember hearing much about the gov't screaming bloody murder and going on a crusade for the killer[s] or anything. they found him and just wrote it off as oswald. case shut. this is an event that should have caused a huge ruccus, but much like sept 11, seems like it was kinda pushed aside for another agenda.
granted i did not live through this, so none of this is first hand experience, just words in a textbook and other media. any of yous that did live though it, i'd be curious to know your perspective.

Seriously, I don't have a clue. My father-in-law is all into this though. I could ask him, but probably all I could report is the bottom line--"The Cubans" or "The Military-Industrial Complex"--and not the extensive underlying research he's done.

So I remember reading a report by an editor at the Toronto Star, this was on one of the anniversaries of the event.
This guy said he was a reporter in dallas that day. After the shooting he called the office and said he would get on the next flight to Washington. His editor said 'no, get on the next flight to Cuba'. So he did.
They put him and some others in the front end of the plane, and there was a curtain preventing him from seeing the rest of the plane and they were instructed not to go back or look back there.
So of course he did.
He said he saw 5 or 6 Cuban men sitting there. All the other seats were empty, and the men there were wide eyed, nervous.
In another recent article I read that the U.S. gov't (CIA) tried to assassinate Castro several times. Shooters, poison etc. Bobby Kennedy was apparently behind an attempt or two.
Castro was nuts with rage over the Bay of Pigs thing as well, and wanted revenge.
But there was also a mob connection. Sam Giancana (google that name for more info), helped deliver Chicago for the Kennedy presidential bid. Then, the theory goes, the administration decides to crack down on organized crime and the mob feels betrayed.
Jack Ruby owes the mob some favours and they put heat on him. The time of day they transferred Oswald was actually a surprise. That was supposed to happen later, many reporters were caught off guard. But some police in Dallas were already in the pocket, and they told Ruby when and where and let him in.
His alibi was that he didn't want to see Jackie K. suffer. But it later came out that that was actually an excuse made up by his lawyer.
Well, there's way more as you can imagine. I don't know how true any of it is. But the Warren Commision raised many more questions then it answered.

Ruby reported to the jail-psychologists that he was blackmailed to kill Oswald. 1978, an old tv interview which Ruby were giving between an break of an trial. Ruby:

The Interviewer asks Ruby, if he believes that the truth ever will be revealed. Ruby:
No. Than unfortunately will this people, that have so much to win and a strong motive, to take me into this position, in which i am, never accept that the true facts will be revealed.
