Aeon Flux? Sux. Very disappointing. They came up with this pointless plot and she wasn't all badass cool like in the cartoon, she was too human in nature. She did the bug crawl thing a couple times, but not enouh, and she did the venus fly trap eye thing at the beginning but the rest of the movie gave no mention of it or any reason she should be able to do that, or the bug crawl. Maybe I was expecting some hardcore ninja training scenes or something. They concentrated way too much on the boring plot they came up with having to do with cloning. Charlize did well enough as the Aeon they formed for this movie, but I don't remember the character being so sensitive and humanly emotional in the cartoon. At least they got the hair right.

I sort of had a feeling that it might when they played that shitty rock song whose name I can't recall right now in the commercials for it. I've never seen something that that song was connected to not suck.

Anyone could figure out (as long as they saw the original cartoons) that they could never do a viable action movie based on Aeon Flux. It was too weird.
Sums it up |

This is a movie that's for nerds, marketed to a mass audience.
Smart. |

Charlize Theron nude.
Constantly.

That was just one small sign of how it would blow. The outfit that Aeon normally wore was "too skimpy" or some shit for Charlize (ie they didn't offer her enough money to wear it), so she wore that stupid full body suit. |

Wait, I thought Theron did full-frontal in every movie she's been in? Are you telling me that THIS is the exception? |

I knew it would suck the moment they cast Charlize Therone. The cartoon biatch is not that conventionally attractive. I knew this would be somewhere on par with the Final Fatasy movie. Nice animation shittay plot, cept here its nice fine ass biotch shittay plot.

I gave up on the orginal animated version after about 10 minutes and that is probably why I enjoyed the movie. You guys already had preconceptions of the movie by knowing the material.
I didn't know the material and thus enjoyed the movie. |

I can't say I didn't like it. I had no real expectations. I watched all of the MTV shorts and gained the loose idea of what was going on. I saw that Charlize Theron was the lead... and I went in like that.
I'd say you'd be better off to watch Equilibrium, read 1984 and A Brave New World and pay attention to the news... Movies are nothing if not reflections of culture.
