Tonight I spent the night bar hopping with an old friend. Today is the last day he will work against his will till he dies. I asked him the same old question. What are you going to do? He replied " I'm going north to shoot a caraboo, ice fishing, get drunk, more ice fishing and work on my airplane".
I am trying to plan on retirement like he did"He had massive stock in Occidental" but when I thought about what I would do all I could think about is smoke pot and hang out. Anyone else cross this path yet?

I always swore I'd retire to a life of leisure at 40. More than likely, that isn't going to happen.
My goal is now 45...I can play the game for 10 more years, I guess.

I retired four and a half years ago at the ripe old age of thirty-eight. My goal was to stay fucked up 24/7 and I did for two and a half years. Now I buy older homes and remodel them to lease or resale. I work when I want to with no set hours and nobody to ride my ass. I am also taking a master gardeners course at the UofK extension service.

i would like to go to the carribean with all my friends and party till i die of either overdose or heart attack. then i will leave all my money to a monkey and make my frineds live on the island untill they figure out how to get off. hopefully they will turn to cannibelism.

I hope to retire from full-time work in the next five years or so, and start making hand-crafted furniture and/or musical instruments. My Father was a full-time harp maker, and it seems that some of it has rubbed off on me. I made one five or six years ago that turned out quite well, and I want to do more. I would also like to try making drums and electric guitars one day.

I think we're headed for buying a little bed and breakfast in Oregon after the kids all leave the area. The house we bought has quintupled in value, and by the time we cash it out, we'll have about 1.2 million to retire on. For now, we have no cash or free time, but we will, my friends, we will....
