Want to bypass that nasty work firewall, but are afraid of proxies?? Well then I have a solution for you.
First download "Tor", an onion router, HERE Read all the shit thats in there. Its really helpfull. It even tells you how to install "Privoxy"!!
Download Privoxy here.
Follow the instruction on the Tor site to set up Privoxy to work with Tor. Then, follow those same instructions to use Tor/privoxy with your IM client. (I use GAIM and it works with IRC and Jabber).
Now, download sygate (the free one) HERE.
LEARN HOW TO USE THIS VERY AWESOME prog HERE. The advanced rules will let you block out any of you IT guys atempts to see what you are doing on your comp. It totally rawks.
Here's a basic FAQ of how I UNDERSTAND it werks. Tor is an onion router, which relies on some generous people (not me cause I'm a selfish leech bastard) letting the program use 20k (both ways) of band width (it'll tell you how to set that server like process up, but I just ignored it). These randome servers are what Tor (The Onion Router) to jump from "server" to "server" to "server" (as proxies) till it gets where you want to go. This alone is kewl but not private enough. Tor will tell you this. Hence Privoxy. Privoxy helps to cover more data leaks like DNS stuff etc. Now, TOR is really a proxy and your IT folks will perk their ears up at that and want to know what you are doing. Hence Sygate - Its free and ultimately customizable so you can do what you want with a good amount of privacy. Only problem here is that IT will know that you are using a proxy of some sort, but they won't be able to tell what you are doing. If you get some weird attack notices on your comp then run Ccleaner or whatever app you use to erase your tracks.
DO NOT PIRATE MATERIAL OR DOWNLOAD ILLEGAL SHIT of any kind at werk. Just use this to be able to use IRC and surf LS. NO PORN you pervs thats for the restroom or home.

I can post here during the day. So there. Thbbbt.  Its like 2pm in LA right now.
Mundra - remember I am at a HUGE company that just implemented a really crappy firewall. I mean I can still visit LS by goign to the IP instead of the domain name. What kind of firewall is that. Anyways, I changed all the adminitrator info on my machine ages ago. Everytime they'd try and "update" my computer they'd screw something up and my MSoutlook would be down for three hours. Now it stays fixt.
Everyone knows that MS is not really secure with any of their program's pass protecting software. But none of the IT guys here are l33t enough to do anything about it. Seriously they are all really cheap laborors. I made all buddy buddy with one dude and he was like, most of these guys can't even hack their ipods. They're straight out of some trade school. The higherups are leet enough I'll grant you that, but they wouldn't come out here unless I was pirating shit or watching porn.
However, the gauntlet is thrown. I will now focus on making a batch file or some other autoexec file that when anyone Log's on to my comp as an administraitor it will reinitialize the HD. Or maybe it should just erase my whole user profile and certain apps that I don't want them to see.
Also, I should write another file that opens all the TOR and shit when I want to use it and close it all down when I don't. See I'm not running global proxy settings on my machine. I could write a KDE file for that but its a hassle and actually counter productive. Every app has to be manually set up to use TOR. So I leave IE to run through the regular servers. Same with outlook. And a whole host of other apps.
POINT IS I MAY BE CHASING A GHOST BUT IT GIVES ME SOMETHING TO DO!!!
