Saw this flick last night. I must say I liked it. Problem with it was, the asshats in the theater, college kids, old men, wouldnt shut the fuck up! I suppose they were expecting a brainless action blowout that Hollywood churns out relentlessly.
This movie takes itself pretty seriously and has many parts that convey the message of the film without dialogue. Decent performances by Vigo, Maria Bello, and Ed Harris. An honorable mention is the main characters brother....hes a drunk mafia boss who borders on retarded, very entertaining. Anyone else seen it?

Saw a "making of" featurette on HBO or some shit. Looked promising. I also like that the director specifically mentioned in his interview that he was showing unglamorized violence. No choreography, just ugly realistic fighting. Sounded interesting. |

Saw it. Good, well-paced movie with very nice performances. Cronenberg really does not turn away the camera in this movie: brains and meatchunks fly out, noses get smashed in, bones get crushed. It's like Clavis's birthday!
I would say wait to rent? Just not sure if it's worth the price of admission.
